SOLIDO IS UNIQUE
• No recycle value: its popularity will contribute to the manhole cover-stolen problem thor¬oughly.
• High load capacity: its high load capacity exceeds the ductile iron manhole cover.
• Free design: it can be designed individually in terms of users’ demands.
• Good decorative effect: it can be designed in various colors and patterns with the artistic effect of relief.
• Long service life: the service life of our manhole covers can be up to 50 years.
• Well-sealed: it can be used to hermetically and effectively prevent those poisonous gases leak¬ing out from the cesspool.
• No any jangle: there is neither jangle nor rebound when cars pass by.
• Good wear and corrosion resistance: it has good wear and corrosion resistance and it will be never rusted.
All of our composite manhole covers & frames are produced according to EURO standard EN 124; the maximum load ability of our GRP manhole covers can reach D400 (40tons), and E600 (60tons) & F900 (90tons) are available upon request.
Materials We Use
• Glass-reinforced plastic (GRP or fiberglass) is a composite material made of a thermosetting plastic resin reinforced by fine fibers of glass along with the use of additives and is commonly referred to by the name of fiberglass.
• GRP is an immensely versatile material, which combines lightweight with inherent strength to provide a resilient finished product with a variety of surface textures and a virtually unlimited color range available. By selecting the appropriate combination of fiberglass reinforcements, resins and processing techniques, the engineer can create a product or component to meet the most demanding of specifications.
• High strength, lightweight, dimensional stability, corrosion/chemical/electrical resistance, low tooling/installation cost, long life. GRP products compete very favorably on a performance/life cycle cost basis versus traditional materials.
MORE MATERIAL INFO.
GRP has a number of valuable properties, making it extremely useful in industries all over the world. These properties include:
- Thermal insulation.
- Anti-slip safety.
- High strength-to-weight ratio.
- Does not melt, but burns similarly to wood (it can be produced fire retardant if re¬quired).
- High-energy absorption.
- Chemical resistance.
- Corrosion resistance.
- Can be used in enclosed electrical spaces.
- Good insulation to heat and sound.
- Easy to shape.
- GRP is a useful material for a variety of different reasons. Regardless of the application you require it for, or the industry you work in, GRP is a long-lasting and reliable product.
Classifications of Manhole Covers based on European Standards – BS EN 124:1994
EN 124 divides manhole covers and drainage gratings into 6 classes as follows: A15, B125, C250, D400, E600 and F900. Please note that EN124 is the minimum performance specifications, of there is any doubt, a higher category cover and frame should be selected; contact our Sales Team for assistance on product selection.
Category, Place of installation, Minimum Design Load :
Class A15 Areas which can only be used for pedestrians and ped¬al cyclists. 15kN (or) 1.5Ton
Class B125 Footways, pedestrian and comparable areas, car parks or car parking decks. 125kN (or) 12.5Ton
Class C250 For gully tops installed in the area of curbside channels of roads which when measured from the curb edge, extend a maximum of 0,5m into the carriageway and a maximum of 0,2m into the footway. 250kN (or) 25Ton
Class D400 Carriageways of roads (including pedestrian streets), hard shoulders and parking areas, for all types of road vehicles. 400kN (or) 40Ton
Class E600 Areas imposing high wheel loads, e.g. docks, aircraft pavements. 600kN (or) 60Ton
Class F900 Areas imposing particularly high wheel loads, e.g. air-craft pavements 900kN (or) 90Ton
